For Players

This page contains useful information for players, which modders should also know about.

Streamer Privacy

Some of OneShot’s mechanics may have you accidentally revealing private information about yourself when streaming to an audience, and doesn’t have a streamer mode to prevent this. See Streamer Privacy for more information.

Rebinding Controls

You can rebind your controls by pressing F1 in the game.

In Game Timer

You can enable an in game speedrun timer by adding a file named igt.ini next to the game’s .exe. Useful for speedrunning.

True Save Reset

  1. Disable Steam cloud sync if playing the game/mod through Steam
  2. Navigate to %appdata%/Oneshot
  3. Delete save.dat, p-settings.dat, and the save_backups folder

Mods may have a different save directory, or not have a save at all. For example:

Save Issues

Some mods may use the vanilla game save directory, causing issues once the mod is uninstalled. If launching clean, vanilla OneShot displays an error, follow the save reset steps, and try again. If launching a mod displays an error, seek help from the mod’s developers or community.

See Save Directory if you’re a mod maker - It’s very important.

Save Generator

Want to replay Solstice or change your in-game name? You can generate a save file with a certain name or at a certain state using hat_kid’s save generator.

Installing Mods

It’s the same with the itch.io version, you just navigate to the game’s directory yourself instead of through Steam. YouTube link

Uninstalling Mods

With the itch.io version, you just delete the game files and redownload them from Itch. YouTube link
